Real-time results

Each node reports every result to Selective the moment the test finishes, over the same connection it uses to receive work. There is no artifact to upload and no report to wait for.

Each run has a page at app.selective.ci showing results from every node combined, as they arrive. A failing test appears with its output while the rest of the suite is still running.

From a checkout of the repository:

Terminal window
selective tail

streams the run for the current commit to your terminal, and exits with a code that says how the run ended. Piped, it emits one JSON object per line so a script or a coding agent can consume it. See the CLI.

The first useful result of a run is usually the one that answers “did my change break its own tests”. Because Selective orders those tests first and streams results, that answer typically arrives within seconds, not at the end of the run. A person can stop and fix; an agent can decide whether to let the build continue or abandon it and try again.
